Hub Kyiv – is a space for learning and development of entrepreneurs and their innovative ideas that work for Ukraine.

Hub Kyiv is the social business (for more than profit). This is the Ukrainian organization, which is part of the world-wide Hub network (www.the-hub.net) scattered around the capitals of London, Brussels, Stockholm, Berlin, Cairo, Tel-Aviv, Toronto, San Paulo, Madrid, Johannesburg, Bombay, and other cities.

Hub Kyiv in Ukraine – is the first Hub network of entrepreneurs in the post-Soviet countries.

Hub Kyiv is aimed to support entrepreneurs who are already running small or medium-sized business, or else plan a start-up. Nowadays support of entrepreneurs is based on sharing ideas, knowledge, tools, practices, contacts and recommendations among like-minded individuals at the events from 2 hour to 3 days. The next big event to take place in Kyiv this coming June – is Start-up Picnic. The team of organizers plan to open the own business-center, physical space to inspire and support small and medium-size business leaders to create and implement socially important innovative business projects that would add value to Ukraine and its development.

Hub Kyiv is built on 2 key principles:

• Self-organization of people (new management paradigm); and
• Collective intelligence (that is created by way of interacting with the group of people around certain topic or question that matters together with guests, experts, consultants, authors of books, art people and others interested parties).

Social business means

1. that it is for more than profit, and it is built on an idea that would add value to society – e.g. support the development of entrepreneurs who are innovators in Ukraine, and also to inspire business ideas that are aimed to solve social problems and thus contribute to the development of the country
2. that the profit from the projects within Hub Kyiv is re-invested into quality growth and strengthening of the Hub network in Ukraine.

The first big event, organized by the Hub Kyiv team is Start-up Picnic – on June 19-21, 2009.
